ILLIT released a Korean version of "I Got Your Back" on Monday (August 17), marking the K-pop rookie group's first collaboration with a leading J-pop act. The song features Jisoo and Momoka of Japanese girl group HANA, who also appeared on the original Japanese version.

"I Got Your Back" was originally released in July as ILLIT's second Japanese single, serving as the soundtrack for ABEMA's drama The Vacation Principle. The track reached No. 2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 upon release. The Korean version arrived alongside a music video described as resembling "a scrapbook of teenage memories," continuing the visual language of the original release.

"I Got Your Back reflects our honest thoughts and emotions, so we focused on conveying that sincerity through our vocals. While it's the same song, singing it in Korean gives it an entirely new feel," ILLIT said in a statement. "We hope listeners take comfort in the message that 'you are not alone,' and also enjoy ILLIT's powerful rock energy."

ILLIT debuted under BELIFT LAB in March 2024 with the EP Super Real Me. The five-member group — Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha — is known for songs including "Magnetic" and "Not Cute Anymore." The group is currently on the final stretch of its Press Start concert tour, with a stop in Hong Kong this weekend, followed by encore shows in Incheon in October and Chiba, Japan, in December.
