Diljit Dosanjh announced that he will headline Wembley Stadium in London on September 12, becoming the first Punjabi and first Indian artist to headline the venue. The announcement came during his show at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Sunday (May 31), where Dosanjh told the crowd, “We are doing Wembley Stadium London here. Michael Jackson performed there. Prince performed there. The Queen’s Band performs there. Wembley Stadium, for the first time in history of South Asian artists, especially Punjabis, Wembley Stadium London.” He shared the news online with the caption “History Loading.”
Wembley Stadium has previously hosted performances from Michael Jackson, who played seven sold-out shows there during his Bad World Tour in 1988, as well as Prince and Queen. The venue will also host Harry Styles, My Chemical Romance, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and Bon Jovi in the coming months.
The Wembley date marks another milestone in Dosanjh’s global rise, following sold-out arena and stadium runs across India, North America, Australia, and Europe, including shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden earlier this year as part of his Aura world tour. He last performed in London in October 2024, headlining the city’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena.
Pre-sale for the Wembley Stadium show begins June 10 at 10 a.m. BST, with general onsale following June 12 via Live Nation.
