Sony Pictures Entertainment India has partnered with Haryanvi duo Banjaare and Sony Music India on “Barsaat,” an emotional new track for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The song captures Peter Parker’s state of mind as he comes to terms with MJ forgetting him following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Banjaare, known for their hit track “Bairan,” said the song came together naturally, written during a period of personal heartbreak. “Barsaat is incredibly close to our hearts. We wrote it during a phase when we were navigating our own heartbreak and personal struggles,” members Sumit and Anuj said. “Barsaat came to life naturally as we were simply jamming together one monsoon evening, which is how it found its name. When we watched the trailer… we instantly found echoes of Barsaat in his journey.”
The duo also spoke about their long-standing connection to the franchise’s music, dating back to Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. “Right from Spider-Man: Homecoming, the music of the film has stood out for us. We remember breaking down the background score after watching the film,” they said, adding that composer Michael Giacchino remains their favourite “musical superhero” in the franchise.
“Barsaat” follows an earlier, more upbeat Spider-Man anthem previously released by Sony Pictures Entertainment India for the film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day released in India on July 30, in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
